Maxi Skirts and Blind Trust

 Hey Reckless!

I'm just going to start out this post by pointing out that I LOVE maxi skirts. They're mostly worn in the spring and summer but I think dark colored ones can easily be worn through every season. That is one reason I like them and then the other is how comfortable and easy they are! Today was a lazy day for me (outfit wise) but because of the maxi skirt it looks like I tried to look nice, when really I just threw it on for comfort. I added the cardigan to make the outfit even more cozy. Warning though, make sure that if you put a thick cardigan over a maxi skirt that you have skin showing somewhere or have a focal point that will give you shape like a belt or something. You don't want to end up looking bulky. Also to add a twist to a pretty boring color palette I added some cheetah print flats that I sadly did not get in a picture. You will just have to trust me that they helped to complete the outfit!

The Outcome of Not Doing Your Laundry

"If you want something you've never had, then you've got to do something you've never done."

Happy motivational Monday everyone!

So I threw this on this morning crossing my fingers that it looked good, because I didn't have any unwrinkled jeans or leggings. It actually is now one of my favorite outfits! I've been meaning to wear this dress forever but could never find the right combination to make it less dressy for a long day at school. I finally found it though! I like how the dress, scarf, and boots are monochromatic together so that the tights and denim vest add personality and interest to an otherwise basic outfit.

How Will You Live Your Dash?

 Hey Everyone!
It has been too long, I've missed you! I've been pretty busy lately, leaving little time for updating the blog. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of posting every day for you guys! So I don't have a look post today but instead a post about what I did on Saturday. This past Saturday I got to be apart of the annual dance marathon at my school for the fourth year in a row. The event raises money through donations for the kids at Riley Children's Hospital here in Indianapolis. The people that attend have to stand for the six hour event while doing fun activities, listening to testimonials from patients, and learning a goofy line dance to perform at the end of the day. I personally love dance marathon because of the way so many people donate their time, effort, and money into something so selfless. At last year's dance marathon there was a question asked by one of the speakers that I will never forget, he asked "How will you live your dash?", as in the dash between your birthdate and the day you die. I think about this almost every day. My answer is probably similar to a lot of other people's, I want to live my dash positively effecting others around me and surrounded by people that will help me be the best version of myself. My expectations for myself aren't the loftiest but sometimes I feel myself falling short of how I want to be living. Days like dance marathon remind me that I have the ability to do great things and that even the smallest of actions can make an impact alone or be apart of something greater. I think that is something for all of us to remember. So if you have never thought about it before think about it now, how will you live your dash?

My New Favorite Trend

 Hey Reckless!

Today I wore one of my favorite new clothing pieces from a recent shopping haul! I went to the store the other day looking for sweaters and other pieces to get me through the end of winter (blah) but instead came across so many cute kimonos and kimono like pieces! I'm in love with this new trend! Have you guys noticed them yet? The kimono/blazer was my focal point for this look, so I coordinated everything with it and wore minimal jewelry. I didn't even wear a necklace! Which is very uncommon for me. Well I hope you all are having a fantastic week!

I Know Better Than to Say Never!

"I know better than to say never!"
Happy motivational Monday/President's Day!
Having no school on a Monday is the best. Does anyone have any awesome plans? I'll just be hanging around with friends today so I decided to keep my look simple. The good thing about printed tops is you don't have to put much else with it to make it look like a well planned look. I'm so excited at the possibility of featuring some warm weather looks this week, as the weather is supposed to be good. I'll be crossing my fingers!

Date Night

skirt H&M, dress/shirt Forever 21, tights Forever 21,
boots Charlotte Russe, locket Vintage
 Hey Reckless!

Just a post to follow up yesterday's!This is my Valentine's date night look. This is pretty much the same outfit I wore during the day but with a fancier top to transform it into a night look. It's crazy how a different top can change the whole look! Well in my case I'm wearing a body con dress that I liked the top of with a skater skirt over it. No one will know, unless you tell them or post in on your blog! I hope you all had a great day yesterday, whoever you spent it with. :)
